Regional Workshop in Tirana Addresses Sustainable Agriculture Challenges

A significant Regional Workshop convened in Tirana, Albania, on September 20, focusing on two critical Work Packages within the realm of Sustainable Agriculture. Organized as part of ongoing efforts to foster collaboration and address pressing agricultural challenges, the workshop aimed to establish a foundation for continuous cooperation among the six economies while enhancing understanding of regional baselines and opportunities.
Day one of the workshop centered on the Work Package concerning Agri-Environmental Indicators & Monitoring. Experts and stakeholders delved into discussions aimed at developing strategies for effectively monitoring agricultural practices and their environmental impacts. The objective was to lay the groundwork for informed decision-making and sustainable agricultural management.
On the second day, attention shifted to strategic approaches for climate change adaptation in agriculture, as well as measures for sustainable water use and storage in agriculture. Participants engaged in comprehensive dialogues, drawing upon the expertise of agricultural and environmental specialists from across the beneficiary regions. The discussions focused on identifying innovative solutions to address the challenges posed by climate change and water scarcity, crucial aspects in ensuring the resilience and sustainability of agricultural practices.
