Held in Sarajevo, the hybrid event brought together representatives from ministries and institutions of WB6 economies to explore opportunities for their participation in the upcoming LUCAS Soil campaign. The workshop was led by Sigbert Huber from the Environment Agency Austria, and presentations were provided by representatives of the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC), EUROSOLAN, Österreichische Agentur für Gesundheit und Ernährungssicherheit (AGES), AIS from Slovenia and from BIH by the Agricultural Institute of Republika Srpska.

Key discussions included:

• Insights from the 2015 LUCAS Soil survey.
• Requirements and plans for the next campaign.
• Enhancing analytical capacities and methods in soil monitoring.

This workshop is another step forward in combating diffuse soil pollution and protecting valuable resources in the region.
