On December 4, 2024, EU4Green hosted a regional webinar, Understanding Climate Risks and Their Management, bringing together public and private sector professionals from the Western Balkans. The event provided valuable insights into managing climate-related risks, their implications for the financial sector, and practical strategies for mitigation.

• Defining Climate Risks: Teresa Deubelli-Hwang (Environment Agency Austria) provided an in-depth overview of climate risks, emphasizing their relevance to financial stability and policy-making in Europe and the Western Balkans.
• Sector-Specific Approaches: Dr. Radman Šelmić from Serbia’s Chamber of Commerce presented practical strategies for integrating climate risk management in financial systems and highlighted innovative tools such as green bonds and ESG metrics.
• Interactive Learning: Participants engaged in live Q&A sessions, exploring best practices for risk management tailored to regional challenges such as floods, heatwaves, and regulatory transitions.

The webinar underscored the urgency of building resilient systems to mitigate climate risks, aligning regional efforts with global sustainability goals.
