EU4GREEN looks back at a successful 2024 and plans new activities for 2025

At the fifth EU4Green Project Steering Committee (PSC) Meeting held on 27 November in Vienna, the committee, including representatives from Western Balkans economies, EU institutions, project partners and project experts, reviewed progress, addressed challenges, and set priorities for advancing the Green Agenda in the region. Apart from a comprehensive review of project activities and achievements over the past six months the PSC held strategic discussions on upcoming activities for the remaining project duration and about collaborative approaches to overcome challenges and ensure a successful implementation of the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans.

In 2024, EU4Green held 45 workshops, trainings and seminars, with a total of 936 participants, having involved 63 NGO’s or private entities and 64 journalists. Moreover, 129 EU experts and almost 40 EU institutions transferred their knowledge to more than 650 officials from the beneficiary economies and their institutions.

EU4Green website offers a lot of useful content, including many reports and guidelines on the Library page, but the project’s social media channels also offer interesting and engaging content. The central page in English on LinkedIn provides a great insight in all project activities, while also presenting a variety of content produced for awareness raising and education, such as the Transboundary Podcast and the Green Skills video series which are also found on the projects Youtube channel. There is a Facebook and Instagram page in local language for each of the 6 Western Balkans economies.

2025 will be the final year of the project and it will bring the period of intensified reporting and publication of many deliverables, apart from new workshops, webinars, trainings and alike. Follow EU4Green channels to stay up to date and informed about the green transition of the Western Balkans.
