The EU4Green project has been officially extended and will continue its activities until June 2026, ensuring continued support to the implementation of the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans across the region.
Since the start of the project, EU4Green has implemented 96 workshops throughout the Western Balkans, engaging more than 2,400 participants, including practitioners, policymakers and experts from a wide range of institutions and sectors. These activities have served as a platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange and capacity building, supporting both regional cooperation and the practical application of environmental policies.
Through its work, EU4Green has addressed key environmental challenges related to climate change, biodiversity protection, water and waste management, and sustainable land use. By combining policy support with technical expertise and stakeholder engagement, the project has contributed to strengthening institutional capacities and improving coordination among relevant actors at national and regional levels.
The extension of the project allows for the continuation and further development of these efforts, with a stronger focus on translating policy commitments into concrete actions on the ground. Particular attention will be given to evidence-based approaches, inclusive participation and the use of practical tools that support decision-making and implementation.
In the extended phase, EU4Green will continue to promote regional cooperation, expand its outreach and support institutions, practitioners and local stakeholders in advancing EU environmental priorities. The project will remain focused on delivering tangible results that contribute to more resilient ecosystems, improved environmental governance and long-term sustainability in the Western Balkans.
