EU4Green has released a new technical report presenting the first consolidated results for selected Agri-Environmental Indicators (AEIs) across the Western Balkans. These indicators are essential for monitoring agricultural sustainability, supporting EU accession reforms, and ensuring progress in the implementation of the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans.
The report focuses on three priority indicators jointly selected with thematic coordinators from the region:
The document also identifies additional AEIs relevant for future analytical work, particularly those linked to manure management, irrigation efficiency, ammonia emissions, and farmer training. Expanding the scope of indicators will help strengthen evidence-based decision-making as WB6 economies align with the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and IPARD measures.
This publication represents an important step toward establishing harmonised monitoring systems and improving the availability of reliable environmental data in the region.
